Taking an office building in Nanjing as an example, simulates the influence of different slat angles in the south and west oriented facades on the building energy consumption and the glare in various seasons by the EnergyPlus software, respectively. The results show that the optimal slat angles are 70° to 130°, 60°, 60° and 80° for the south oriented facade in spring, summer, autumn and winter, respectively, and 60°, 40°, 60°, 120° for the west oriented facade, respectively. Compared with non-shading, the reduction rates of annual energy consumption are 13% and 23% and the reduction rates of annual glare time are 96% and 94% for the south and west orientation, respectively, with the facades optimal slat angles in various seasons.
